Parmigiani Fleurier has released the Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante Arctic Rose, a new interpretation of its 2023 world-first Minute Rattrapante.
The original model introduced an unprecedented function: two superimposed minute hands that allow the wearer to add time on demand using three pushers. The 2025 version keeps this mechanism but adds a new dial colour, upgraded finishing and a continued focus on intuitive operation.
As with the previous model, the watch uses two minute hands – one rhodium-plated for real time and one in rose gold for the chosen interval. The pusher at 10 o’clock adds one minute, the pusher at 8 o’clock adds five minutes and the crown resets both hands when the selected interval ends. This system simplifies a complex mechanism through clear functionality and an uncluttered display.
The main update here is the Arctic Rose dial, a pale rose tone with shifting reflections. This colour once arrived with masculine connotations, and was only considered feminine in the second half of the 20th century. All that makes for a perfectly contemporarily genderless timepiece.
Housed within a 40mm stainless steel case, the dial also features an ultra-fine Grain d’Orge guilloché pattern – a long-standing Parmigiani signature that captures the light to scintillating effect.
Other aesthetic details include a platinum 950 hand-knurled bezel, integrated stainless-steel bracelet and delta-shaped gold hands, while sapphire crystal on both sides offers a 60 metre water resistance.
Inside, the watch houses the PF052 automatic calibre, which incorporates the Minute Rattrapante function in a movement-only 4.9mm thick. It includes 271 components, a 48-hour power reserve, 22-carat rose-gold micro-rotor and traditional hand-finished decoration.
