Bitcoin Now Available at Coop Checkouts

The gift cards are now available for purchase in 160 Coop stores throughout Switzerland. Coop is thus allowing its customers to buy Bitcoin and Ethereum directly at the store, as Cryptonow (release in German), based in Zug, announced on Tuesday.

According to the announcement, Coop is the first Swiss retailer to allow its customers to buy cryptocurrency.

The gift cards are available in various denominations from 50 to 500 Swiss francs. After purchase, they can be activated in just a few steps. The special feature: once activated, the cryptocurrency is available immediately on the gift card, which also serves as an offline wallet.
