Iryna Herashchenko wins silver in Warsaw high jump final | Ukraine news

Herashchenko reached 1.92 m in Warsaw, taking silver behind Poland’s Maria Zodzik. Her season form still points toward higher marks ahead.

Ukrainian track and field athlete Irina Gerashchenko won silver at a Continental Tour high jump event in Warsaw.

In the final she cleared 1.92 m, finishing in second place, only behind Polish high jumper Maria Zhodzik, who produced 1.96 m.

Gold went to Maria Zhodzik (1.96 m), and bronze to Louise Ekman of Sweden (1.90 m).

For Gerashchenko, 1.92 m was the lowest result of the 2026 summer season; previously she cleared 1.97 m and 1.96 m in two prior outings, taking silver at the Diamond League stage in Xiamen and gold at the Continental Tour stage in Bialystok.

Such progress underscores Gerashchenko’s development this season and reinforces her status as one of Ukraine’s leading high jumpers.
