Sapphire ring to be auctioned by Charterhouse on July 23

Estimated to sell for £10,000, the piece will be auctioned at Charterhouse’s latest two-day specialist auction of silver, jewellery, and watches, taking place on July 22 and July 23 in Sherborne.

Richard Bromell of Charterhouse said: “This crossover ring certainly sparkles and pops in the light.

“It would not look out of place at a cocktail party, but at the same time, is eminently wearable when popping down to the supermarket for a load of bread and a pint of milk.”

The ring was purchased nearly 10 years ago from a Christie’s jewellery auction in New York and was a gift from the current owner’s late husband.

Crafted in 18ct white gold, the design features two octagonal step-cut sapphires—one blue and one yellow—each weighing around four carats.

Both stones are natural in colour and have not been heat-treated, which is common to enhance a sapphire’s appearance.

All auction lots can be viewed online at the Charterhouse website.

Charterhouse offers valuations of individual items, full collections, or entire house contents.

Inquiries can be made by calling 01935 812277 or emailing rb@charterhouse-auction.com.
