Natural Raises $30M to Build AI Agent Payments Platform

Natural Raises $30M To Expand AI Payments Infrastructure

Natural has raised $30 million in Series A funding to accelerate the development of payments infrastructure purpose-built for AI agents. The round was led by Forerunner, with continued backing from existing investors, bringing the company’s total funding to more than $40 million.

The investment comes less than a year after the company’s launch and reflects growing confidence that AI agents will increasingly participate in financial transactions. The latest round also attracted founders and executives from leading technology and fintech companies, highlighting strong industry interest in the emerging agentic payments sector.

Founded by Kahlil Lalji, Eric Wang, and Walt Leung, Natural is developing a specialised payments platform that enables AI agents to hold funds, move money, make purchases, collect payments, and transact across multiple banking networks and payment rails.

The company believes autonomous AI systems will become significant financial participants as enterprises increasingly deploy agents to complete business tasks independently. Rather than relying on payment infrastructure designed for humans, Natural is creating a dedicated financial stack tailored to the operational needs of AI-powered software.

Series A Funding Accelerates Product Rollout

Natural has already launched six products into general availability, including Wallets, Vaults, Pay, Request, Transfer, and Connect. Together, these services enable businesses to create financial accounts for AI agents, transfer funds, process payments, and integrate payment capabilities into platforms and marketplaces.

The company plans to expand its platform further over the coming months with new products including Voice, Accept, and Cards. These services are designed to let AI agents securely collect payment details, accept merchant payments, and use dedicated payment cards.

Later this year, Natural also expects to introduce Charge, Credit, Direct, and Billing. These additions will support API-based billing, credit facilities for AI agents, direct access to payment rails, and usage-based payment models for autonomous software.

The latest funding will help Natural continue building its proprietary banking and payments infrastructure while expanding its engineering and commercial teams. Despite being less than a year old, the company says it has already developed much of its core technology internally and is hiring aggressively across all departments.

Investors believe AI agents are evolving beyond productivity tools into autonomous economic participants capable of managing financial operations on behalf of businesses. As adoption grows, demand is expected to rise for specialised infrastructure that manages identity, compliance, settlement, fraud prevention, and payment orchestration for these digital workers.

Investors Back Long-Term Vision For Agentic Commerce

The Series A was led by Forerunner with continued participation from existing investors. Additional backers include founders and executives from Human Capital, Abstract, Increase, HappyRobot, Browserbase, Notion, Privy, Brex, Y Combinator, Antifund, and several other technology firms.

Natural says the new capital will support continued product development as it builds what it describes as the foundational payments infrastructure for AI agents. The company expects autonomous software to become an increasingly important part of global commerce.

This requires financial systems designed specifically for machine-driven transactions rather than traditional human workflows. As enterprises continue integrating AI into business operations, Natural aims to position itself as the financial backbone powering the next generation of autonomous digital economies.
