Halifax’s Whitehouse wins silver on Commonwealth Games debut


Halifax’s Luke Whitehouse has won a silver medal on his Commonwealth Games debut.

Whitehouse was part of the England team that finished second in the men’s team gymnastics on Saturday.

The event was marred by one of his team-mates, Gabriel Langton, sustaining a bad injury after falling the apparatus.

Whitehouse then missed out on a medal yesterday in the individual men’s artistic gymnastics all-round final, finishing seventh.
