BOBO Thai Opens in Silver Lake With 12 Versions of Pad Thai

Pad Thai takes center stage at a new Thai restaurant in Silver Lake. Earlier this week, on August 2, BOBO Thai officially opened its doors, debuting as Los Angeles’ first restaurant dedicated entirely to Thailand’s most famous noodle dish. Founded in 2024 by TTFB Group, this marks the vibrant Asian brand’s first U.S. location.

Instead of treating Pad Thai as a single default menu item, BOBO Thai celebrates the dish’s rich diversity with twelve distinct interpretations. You can try everything from “The 1938″—a pork belly classic honoring the year Pad Thai became Thailand’s national dish—to inventive mashups like “Two Kings,” which infuses noodles with the aromatic heat of Tom Yum. The menu also features a rotating “Monthly Wok” for seasonal specials, alongside late-night wok-fired drunken noodles, crispy curry-tossed variations and plenty of plant-based options like the tamarind-rich “Garden Party.”

“In Thailand, every neighborhood and every cook has their own interpretation,” says founder Charles Hsu. “We wanted to create a restaurant that celebrates that diversity while introducing Los Angeles to the depth and creativity behind a dish they thought they already knew.”

The menu goes far beyond noodles with street-style rice bowls, customizable toppings like soft-shell crab and a lineup of “Fun Bites” built for sharing—Green Curry Eggplant Fries, shrimp toast and night-market-style charred corn.

BOBO’s bar complements the dishes with playful, flavor-forward cocktails. Highlights include the signature BOBO Thai Spritz (lychee, raspberry, rose water and sparkling rosé) and the Tom Kha Booze, a coconut-soup-inspired gin drink with lemongrass, ginger and yuzu. Thoughtful mocktails, natural wines and local beers round out the beverage list.

The space matches the vibrant menu with hot pink, electric blue and sunshine yellow hues. Inside, custom artwork and bright uniforms set a lively mood, while a lush backyard patio anchored by a blooming cherry tree offers the perfect backdrop for late-night dining.
