Gold Flows Into ETFs Flipped Positive in July as Investors Buy the Dip | Money Metals

Gold ETFs returned to net inflows in July after two months of outflows, with investors adding 23.5 tonnes of gold worth $3 billion to funds worldwide.

According to the World Gold Council, renewed demand was driven by market volatility, geopolitical uncertainty, bargain buying after lower gold prices, and an uncertain Federal Reserve policy outlook.

European gold ETFs led the recovery, while Asian funds also posted strong gains as investors sought safe-haven assets during stock market weakness.

Despite the rebound, North American gold ETFs saw only a modest recovery and remain the only region with net outflows year-to-date.

Meanwhile, global gold trading volumes eased slightly in July, although activity on the LBMA, COMEX, and Shanghai Gold Exchange remained above recent averages.

While gold ETFs provide convenient exposure to gold prices, they do not offer the same ownership benefits as physical gold, highlighting an important distinction for long-term investors seeking true wealth preservation.
