At the Formula E season 12 finale in London, DS Penske announced the return of its gold livery.
Black and gold from 2022 onwards, DS Penske returns to a bold choice for the Formula E finale at the end of the 2026 season. From August 14th to 16th, Formula E is preparing to close the chapter on its 12th season and crown one of its competitors, while the battles at the top of the standings are still tight. The DS Penske team, which seems to have wanted to kick off this grand finale, will at least have its cars to shine aesthetically. By opting to return to gold, the Americans are making a notable nod to their 2024 livery.
Led by American Taylor Barnard and German Maximilian Günther, the transatlantic team will arrive in Great Britain with the intention of making a strong impression. Designed by Sean Bull Design – already responsible for DS Penske’s traditional livery for this 12th season – the car will indeed sport a dominant gold color scheme, although black pinstripes add a touch of elegance. In a way, this livery is intended as an alternative to this year’s, aiming for greater visibility to mark the end of the season.
In this vein, Maximilian Günther and Taylor Barnard will be keen to finish this 12th Formula E season on a high note. Currently 16th and 18th in the championship standings, the American and the German haven’t quite achieved their desired results, despite several top-10 finishes. Barnard, for example, secured a top-four finish in the second weekend of the year in Mexico. Coming off 9th and 10th place finishes in Tokyo, they will be heading to London for two highly anticipated races.
