GSC reviews public financial reform progress

The General Secretariat of the Steering Committee for Public Financial Management Reform (GSC) Friday convened a meeting to review progress in public financial management reform and discuss plans for a new assessment of government expenditure and financial accountability.

The meeting, chaired by Um Youthy, Deputy Secretary General of GSC, was attended by GSC specialists, technical experts and representatives from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), in Phnom Penh on August 7.

According to a GSC announcement, participants discussed the implementation of Phase IV of the Public Financial Management Reform Program (PFMRP), along with preparations for the upcoming Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability (PEFA) assessment.

The meeting also examined the Consolidated Action Plan (CAP), which outlines key reform priorities and actions, while participants discussed potential areas for future cooperation with the ADB.

The discussions form part of Cambodia’s broader efforts to strengthen public financial management, improve accountability and enhance the efficiency of public spending.
