Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez Marry, Prenuptial Agreement Details Emerge | Ratopati

Lisbon. Famous Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez have finally tied the knot. They have been together for a long time and have children from their relationship. With the marriage, their relationship has now taken legal form. Ronaldo, who has amassed a large fortune through a football career spanning over two decades, sponsorships, businesses, and property investments, faces a question after his marriage: how much alimony can Georgina receive from Ronaldo if they divorce in the future? Such questions often arise in the marriages of famous athletes. The issue of property division and alimony has also come to the fore with the divorces of many superstars in the history of world sports. As their residences, businesses, and assets are linked to various countries including Portugal, Spain, and Saudi Arabia, this matter could become even more complex in the case of Ronaldo and Georgina. According to reports, Ronaldo and Georgina signed a prenuptial agreement at a public notary office in Lisbon on August 10, the day before their wedding. According to details published by the Portuguese newspaper ‘Jornal de Notícias’, the agreement stipulates that their individual assets before marriage will be kept separate. This means that houses, land, investments, and other assets owned by Ronaldo before marriage will generally remain his personal property. Similarly, assets in Georgina’s name will also remain her personal property. Therefore, it is unlikely that Georgina will automatically receive half of Ronaldo’s pre-marital assets. The large fortune Ronaldo earned playing for Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and in Saudi Arabia, investments made, and properties purchased before marriage may fall under personal property under this arrangement. If Portuguese marital property law applies, the situation of assets acquired after marriage could be different. Income earned by the husband or wife after marriage, and assets purchased with that income, may become common marital property according to law and the marriage contract. For example, if Ronaldo earns a large sum of money from football, endorsements, business, or other investments after marriage, a portion of it may be counted as marital property. Similarly, the ownership of houses, investments, or other assets purchased with joint income after marriage will be determined according to the relevant legal provisions. In the event of a divorce, after deducting related debts and other legal adjustments from the joint assets, the remaining net joint assets may be divided. This does not mean Georgina will receive 50 percent of Ronaldo’s entire assets. Personal assets accumulated by Ronaldo before marriage and assets that fall under joint property after marriage must be considered separately. Some media outlets in Portugal and Spain have claimed that they have a private financial agreement. Some reports claim that there is a provision to provide Georgina with approximately 100,000 euros per month for life in case of divorce or other circumstances. Claims have also been made public that Ronaldo’s luxurious house in the La Finca area of Madrid will remain in Georgina’s name.
