Infrastructure Sterilisation Drilling Begins at Tunkillia

Development programs advancing, Resource upgrades pending

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Pre-feasibility Study (PFS) underway for large-scale gold production, targeting Q1 CY27 publication1

  • Sterilisation drilling programs begin for potential locations of key project infrastructure

  • Gold and silver JORC Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) upgrades pending following recent drilling2

ADELAIDE, AU / ACCESS Newswire / August 19, 2026 / Barton Gold Holdings Limited (ASX:BGD)(OTC PINK:BGDFF)(FRA:BGD3) (Barton or Company) is pleased to announce the start of sterilisation drilling programs at its South Australian Tunkillia Gold Project (Tunkillia).

Drilling has been designed to test multiple potential locations for infrastructure such as waste dumps, tailings storage facilities, and processing plant to ensure these are not sited over potentially valuable mineralisation.

Tunkillia’s May 2025 Optimised Scoping Study (OSS) outlined a compelling development project combining scale and rapid capital payback, with a PFS now underway to support a Mining Lease application and financing: 1

~120,000oz gold and ~260,000oz silver

~A$2.7 billion (unlevered, pre-tax)

~A$1.4 billion (unlevered, pre-tax)

~73.2% (unlevered, pre-tax); and

~0.8 years (unlevered, pre-tax)

Notably, within the project the S1 and S2 pits are modelled to produce 365,000oz gold, 923,000oz silver and $1.7bn operating free cash during the first ~27 months alone (assuming current gold and silver prices).1 These proceeds would therefore repay up-front development capex more than 4x over in this short time.

Resource upgrades pending

A total of 57,653m reverse circulation (RC) and diamond (DD) drilling has recently been completed to upgrade Tunkillia’s modelled open pit mineralisation to JORC ‘Measured’ and ‘Indicated’ categories.2 The objective of the PFS is to convert these materials to ‘Proven’ and ‘Probable’ Ore Reserves (subject to technical assessment) and confirm high-confidence in its accelerated cashflows profile to underwrite development finance.

Commenting on the start of Tunkillia sterilisation drilling, Barton Managing Director Alex Scanlon said:

“We have recently completed over 57,000m of Resource upgrade drilling at Tunkillia, with positive surprises in some zones offering material upside potential. We look forward to sharing assays and Resource updates in due course.

“In the meantime, we continue advancing our geotechnical, metallurgical and infrastructure planning programs in parallel, which includes sterilisation drilling at various proposed sites for key infrastructure.
