Forget red and orange. Vacheron Constantin is giving you a pop of blue on your wrist this fall.
The watchmaker has just unveiled a new Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin with an eye-catching azure blue dial—a shade that’s making its debut with this model launch. The limited-edition timepiece, crafted to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Overseas, is also paired with an 18-karat white-gold case, a first for Vacheron.
It’s that blue hue, of course, that immediately draws in your attention on this Overseas. The exact shade, a lacquered azure, is different from the one launched back in 2016, when the latest generation of the model entered the scene; here, the color is less intense, and lighter, too, one that pairs nicely with its 41.5 mm case. The moonphase disc has been done up in the same shade, along with the subdials. The hour and minute hands, as well as the counter hour markers, are crafted in 18-karat white gold, accented by blue Super-LumiNova.

Beating at the heart of the new Overseas is Vacheron’s Manufacture Calibre 1120 QP/1. The self-winding mechanical movement clocks in at just 4.05 mm thick, which helps give the watch its slender profile via an 8.1 mm high case. The maison packs a whole lot of complexity into one slim package here, offering up a perpetual calendar that can account for leap years and months with 28, 30, and 31 days—and it won’t need any adjusting until 2100, a non-leap century year. You can catch a glimpse of the movement via the sapphire-crystal caseback, which puts details such as Côtes de Genève and beveling on the bridges and the 22-karat gold oscillating weight on full display. With a power reserve of 40 hours, the caliber also has a frequency of 2.75 Hz and 276 components.
For a little history, Vacheron debuted its first Overseas model back in 1996 as a successor to the iconic 222. Two generations have followed in its footsteps, launched in 2004 and then 2016. In the 10 years since, the watchmaker has dropped many iterations of the timepiece, from skeletonized versions to cases made from titanium.

And now this new Overseas has joined the fray: The celebratory Ref. 4300V/220G-H119 is limited to just 200 pieces. It also comes with three strap options: an 18-karat white-gold bracelet with satin-finished, polished links that mirror the shape of a half Maltese cross; a white rubber strap; and a blue rubber strap. Quite the celebration, indeed.
