Vacheron Constantin Reveal New American 1921 and Overseas Models at Watches & Wonders 2026

Across 2025 Vacheron Constantin was celebrating their 270^th anniversary in dramatic fashion with a strong focus on ultra-high end haute horology creations like the Quest of Time. For Watches & Wonders 2026 they’re reinforcing some of their core collections with new models for the Historiques American 1921 and Overseas ranges. Although this is still Vacheron Constantin so Watches & Wonders wouldn’t be complete without at least one offering from Les Cabinotiers and the Minute Repeater Tourbillon Skeleton ticks that box nicely. 

Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 Pink Gold

The Historiques American 1921 is one of my personal grail watches for its combination of class, style, quirkiness and heritage. It features a cushion case and 45 degree rotated display like a watch face on its way to becoming a Dali painting. The purpose behind the angled design is all about driving, as when you have your hands on the steering wheel, the dial sits horizontally so that it’s easier to read. 

For 2026 the collection has been expanded to include a new expression in pink gold, available at 40mm diameter or 36.5mm. While pink gold has been used before in the collection, what marks these models as new is the use of blue accents on the dial including the central Breguet style hands and matching numerals. Additionally they are set against a new grainy dial that adds extra depth to the design. 

Powering this collection is the calibre 4400 AS with manual winding and a 65-hour power reserve. Prices start at £32,400 for the 36.5mm and £39,300 for the 40mm.

Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points

The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points has been a long time coming. It’s a follow up to a 2021 special edition, the Overseas Dual Time “Everest”, with the new models featuring similar titanium cases, the same dial layout and even a similar dial texture. 

The case itself measures 41mm in diameter in the signature Overseas design including Maltese cross bezel, here presented in dark anthracite grey. There are four references in the collection and each one is dedicated to a different cardinal point of the compass, which is gleaned from the colour of the dial, either white, green, brown or blue. Inside the watch is the calibre 5110 DT/3, an automatic movement with 60-hour power reserve and equipped with hours, minutes, seconds, dual time, day/night indicator and pointer date subdial.  

Vacheron Constantin Overseas Self-Winding Ultra-Thin

Vacheron is presenting their new ultra-thin automatic calibre, the 2550, measuring just 2.4mm thick while maintaining an 80-hour power reserve. It took seven years to develop and consists of a micro-rotor to supply power to the double barrel and single lever gear train. The barrels are arranged one on top of the other, eliminating the need for an extra barrel cover between them and thus reducing thickness, though they are still coupled together to work in series. 

The new movement makes its debut inside a platinum Overseas case that measures 39.5mm diameter x 7.35mm thickness. It’s a little more delicate than a typical Overseas due to its platinum construction and 50m water resistance rating as opposed to even the gold models that have a 150m water resistance.

For the dial they’ve opted for a classy sunray brushed salmon tone. The central hands feature hours and minutes with no seconds to help maintain the slim proportions. 

Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Minute Repeater Tourbillon Skeleton

Les Cabinotiers is the designation given to Vacheron’s most high-end watches, where each one is a masterpiece of horological engineering. A classic example of which is the Minute Repeater Tourbillon combining a chiming mechanism and rotating regulator to create a truly dramatic timepiece that incorporates both visuals and sound. The movement that powers this combination of haute horology complications is the calibre 2755, which VC have decided to skeletonise to create a 1-of-1 piece unique. 

Measuring 45mm in pink gold, the dial has been removed and the movement skeletonised to reveal as much of its inner workings as possible. There are nine types of finishing on display that include: étirage (abrasive brushing), dressage (satin brushing), bevelling, sandblasting, interior angle polishing, mirror polishing, circular graining, snailing, and sunray brushing.

The skeletonization process involved 3D-modelling every single component and redesigning it in a new skeleton way, far more complex than simply removing material from the existing movement. That process alone took a full year, hence its exclusivity and piece-unique status.
