This comprehensive support includes the hardware facilities of the HKSI, training resources, and research and development of sports medicine and sports science. In the 2024 Policy Address, I proposed to review the mechanism of direct financial support for elite athletes. The grant level of direct financial support for them has been comprehensively increased from April 1, 2025, and the subsidy ceiling of athletes’ participation in competitions has also been raised this year. We will continue to provide full support for Hong Kong, China athletes to excel at international and regional competitions, and to take Hong Kong sport to a new level.”
