Locals reported seeing a huge team of forensics and officers on the street as police continue to investigate. The area has been cordoned off to traffic and the public.

One eyewitness said they saw bins being taken away and replaced with new ones. In images shared with Edinburgh Live, the forensic team clad in white PPE can be seen lining up outside a property with several police vans also present.

It is understood police have been on site since Friday morning.

The street was locked down on Friday afternoon as officers and CID raced the scene while tens of thousands descended to Edinburgh for Taylor Swift’s concert at Murrayfield Stadium. Westfield Road would have been a popular route for many to get to the stadium.
