John Prine Tribute Film You Got Gold Now Streaming

Today, the Prine Family, Oh Boy Pictures and The Reelist announce the first streaming release of the acclaimed and star-studded tribute concert film, You Got Gold: A Celebration of John Prine, honoring the enduring legacy of one of America’s greatest and most beloved songwriters. Captured over two unforgettable nights at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium in October 2022, directed by Michael John Warren and co-produced with RadicalMedia, You Got Gold is now available on the independent, filmmaker-founded streaming platform until the end of 2026, further extending a year-long celebration of the late John Prine’s 80th birthday this past Saturday, October 10th.

Watch You Got Gold: A Celebration of John Prine online at Reelist.Stream, or through The Reelist app on AppleTV, Roku, FireTV, GoogleTV or AndroidTV HERE.

A New York Times Critic’s Pick, You Got Gold features dozens of joyous, heartfelt performances of the classic John Prine songs that captivated millions and have inspired, comforted and connected generations, as well as behind-the-scenes stories and more from a community of family, friends and fans like Brandi Carlile, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Tyler Childers, Swamp Dogg, Alejandro Escovedo, I’m With Her, Jason Isbell, Valerie June, Lyle Lovett, Kacey Musgraves, Margo Price, Tommy Prine, Bonnie Raitt, Nathaniel Rateliff, Allison Russell, The War and Treaty, Kurt Vile, Bob Weir, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, Lucinda Williams, Dwight Yoakam and so many others.

Following today’s Reelist release and the film’s initial theatrical run across the US in 2025 and 2026, more information on You Got Gold’s VOD availability, physical Blu-Ray debut and additional bonus content will be made available in the coming weeks.

Fiona Prine, You Got Gold’s producer and Founder and President of the Prine family’s Hello in There Foundation notes: “John’s life’s work – the catalog of songs he created – had a way of connecting to people using empathy, humor and truth to convey his understanding of the human condition. In helping to create this film my main goal was to honor that legacy in the most honest and authentic way possible. I wanted to create an opportunity for all of us to gather in remembrance, to celebrate how he had lived his life, and to honor his singular and unique talent…reminding audiences how vital, alive, and deeply relevant his songs are, and ensuring that they will be remembered and shared for many years to come.”

Over the past week, John Prine’s 80th birthday was commemorated by a five-day series of milestone celebrations and community collaborations throughout his native Chicago – from the sold-out Souvenirs: 80 Years of John Prine concert at The Chicago Theatre to tributes across Old Town School of Folk Music, his Maywood hometown and beyond – showing that if John Prine were still with us in 2026, he would be doing exactly what he did throughout a five-decade career: giving freely of his time, wisdom, humor, advice and kindness.
