CME Logs First Trade in Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap Futures

  • FalconX and GSR executed the first block trade in CME Group’s new Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures, the exchange said on Tuesday.

  • The contracts bring CME’s single-asset crypto futures lineup to 11 tokens.

  • CME said its crypto futures and options averaged more than 242,000 contracts a day so far in 2026, or about $7.9 billion in notional value.

CME Group said trading is underway in its new Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) futures, with crypto firm FalconX and liquidity provider GSR executing the first trade.
The launch extends CME’s regulated crypto lineup to 11 single-asset futures contracts, adding two tokens to a lineup that CME already expanded this year with five other altcoin contracts.
FalconX and GSR executed the first block trade in the contracts, CME said in a press release on Tuesday. CME announced both contracts in September for an Oct. 19 launch, pending regulatory review.

“With trading now underway in our Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures, we are providing clients with more versatility to manage cryptocurrency risk and exposure through our robust 24/7 marketplace,” said Giovanni Vicioso, CME Group’s global head of cryptocurrency products.

“Institutional demand is moving beyond the largest digital assets toward tokens with distinct use cases, like Bitcoin Cash in payments and Uniswap in decentralized finance,” said Griffin Sears, head of derivatives at FalconX.

GSR CEO Xin Song said the firm has “long believed that expanding institutional-grade derivatives will supercharge institutional adoption of digital assets.”

CME’s crypto futures and options averaged more than 242,000 contracts a day so far in 2026, or $7.9 billion in notional value, with average daily open interest of almost 240,000 contracts, the company said.
CME said its expansion into five other altcoin futures this year added nearly $2 billion in year-to-date notional value. The exchange is separately suing the CFTC in court over the agency’s approval of crypto perpetual futures.

BCH traded around $279 at the time of writing, up about 2.3% over seven days, while UNI was near $7.37, down about 16% over 30 days, according to CoinMarketCap data.
