INTERSWITCH, one of Africa’s leading integrated payments and digital commerce companies, has held conversations on scalable digital infrastructure and adaptive financial systems through its flagship TechConnect 6.0 series.

The (NAN) reports that the engagement, in Ibadan on Thursday, is themed “Built for What’s Next: Designing Adaptive Financial Infrastructure for a Dynamic Market”.

The Ibadan edition, which convened government, financial services, technology and business stakeholders to deliberate on building resilient infrastructure for growth, is part of the nationwide TechConnect 6.0 series.

According to the organiser, the edition built on earlier conversations initiated in Imo and Abuja.

The conversations focused on shared infrastructure’s role in enabling business growth and translating financial inclusion into tangible economic impact, particularly for underserved individuals and communities.

In his keynote address, the Managing Director, Ilorin Innovation Hub, Mr Temi Kolawole, underscored the importance of building scalable solutions and infrastructure that can support innovation, business expansion and sustainable economic development.

Kolawole noted that an enabling ecosystem, where technology, collaboration and scalable infrastructure intersect, is critical to helping businesses navigate market complexities and respond to emerging opportunities in Nigeria’s dynamic digital economy.

On the significance of the Ibadan edition, Mr Tyoyila Aga, Vice President, Business Innovation and Growth, Interswitch, said the future of digital growth lies in connected infrastructure that evolves with business needs.

“Building for what’s next requires more than adopting new technologies; it requires connected infrastructure that can evolve alongside changing business needs and customer expectations,” Aga said.

He added that as the country seeks to scale digital services and expand economic participation, collaboration and shared solutions would be critical to creating secure, resilient and inclusive systems.

According to him, Interswitch, through TechConnect, is bringing stakeholders together to explore practical ways to translate innovation into sustainable business growth.

He said this would also ensure that the benefits of digital transformation reach more people and communities.

NAN reports that the event’s highlight was a panel discussion, themed “Building for Scale: Shared Solutions and Infrastructure for Business Growth”.

The discussion examined how shared infrastructure and collaborative approaches could help businesses expand efficiently.

The panellists explored how connected systems, technology adoption and cross-industry partnerships could help organisations overcome operational barriers, improve efficiency and build solutions that scale with evolving business needs.

The session also emphasised the importance of collaboration among technology providers, financial institutions, businesses and other ecosystem stakeholders in developing infrastructure that supports growth and creates opportunities for wider economic participation.

The conversation further reinforced the need for interoperable and adaptive infrastructure as a foundation for sustainable business growth in a rapidly changing market.

In addition, a fireside chat, titled “From Financial Inclusion to Economic Impact: Reaching the Underserved at Scale”, examined the link between access to financial services and meaningful economic participation.

The discussion focused on extending digital financial services to underserved individuals and communities.

It also considered how accessible, reliable and relevant solutions could translate financial inclusion into tangible benefits for households, small businesses and local economies.

Across both sessions, speakers and participants explored the value of adaptive, secure and interoperable financial infrastructure in enabling business growth and expanding access to digital services across Nigeria.

They stressed that sustained collaboration remained key to translating technological innovation into practical solutions that address real business and societal needs.

TechConnect Ibadan also showcased Interswitch solutions and capabilities, demonstrating how technology and payments infrastructure support organisations as they respond to evolving customer expectations and navigate the changing digital economy.

As the series’ grand finale approaches in Lagos, stakeholders agreed that collaboration, innovation and adaptive infrastructure are central to building a resilient and inclusive digital economy for Nigeria and Africa. (NAN)
