Zacatecas Silver has submitted a formal permit application to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) to conduct surface exploration at its Cumaro Gold-Silver Project in Sonora. The regulatory filing marks a critical step for the company as it seeks to advance its exploration pipeline in the region. The asset was incorporated into the company’s portfolio following an option agreement with Heliostar Metals.
The application covers authorization for up to 10 drill pads across the property. This procedural milestone follows encouraging surface work, where rock chip sampling campaigns returned gold grades reaching up to 40.6g/t. Eric Vanderleeuw, CEO and Director, Zacatecas Silver, noted that such asset additions establish a strong multi-asset platform capable of generating near-term catalysts while building sustainable long-term value across established mining jurisdictions. The planned drilling program is designed to test these targets and evaluate the geological extent of mineralization within the concession.
