Man bailed after burglary at gold shop in King’s Lynn

The incident took place at The King’s Lynn Gold Shop on Norfolk Street at around 5.30am on Thursday, October 29.

It left owner Jordan McCallum confused after the suspect allegedly ignored around £4,000 in cash before stumbling out of the shop’s broken window with his trousers falling down.

Mr McCallum said: “He took jewellery that was worth between £3,000 and £4,000, and for some reason left around another £4,000 in cash that was right in front of him

“His trousers fell down as he was trying to leave.

“He climbed through the broken pane of glass in the front door, then fell into the street.”

It is believed that the man was arrested on the same day as the burglary and he has since been bailed until January 20.

The burglary happened just around the corner from a Costa Coffee shop that was ram-raided on August 27, with a charity box being stolen.

The gold shop is due to reopen tomorrow (November 3).
