Gundam Wing’s formidable Gundam Epyon has traded its familiar crimson armor for a striking white and gold finish, with a special Gundam Base-exclusive Master Grade now available online through Premium Bandai US.
The “MG 1/100 GUNDAM EPYON EW [CROSS CONTRAST COLORS / CLEAR WHITE]” is among more than 200 Gunpla kits and related accessories included in Gundam Winter Fest 2026, which temporarily makes a selection of normally store-exclusive Gundam Base models available to online customers.

Gundam Epyon originates from the 1995 anime Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, where it was developed by Treize Khushrenada as an advanced close-combat Mobile Suit incorporating a combat prediction system similar to Wing Gundam Zero’s ZERO System.
Originally piloted by Heero Yuy before passing into the hands of Zechs Merquise, the Epyon became Wing Gundam Zero’s greatest rival, with the two machines eventually facing each other in one of the series’ most memorable battles.

The Gundam’s powerful Beam Sword, segmented Heat Rod, and ability to transform into a dragon-like Mobile Armor made it one of the most imposing designs introduced during the original anime.

Bandai originally released the Cross Contrast Colors Master Grade in April 2025, giving Hajime Katoki’s Gundam Epyon EW redesign a completely new appearance through a combination of solid white, transparent armor, and metallic gold components.
The kit was introduced alongside the “MG 1/100 Wing Gundam Zero EW [Cross Contrast Colors / Clear Purple],” with both models receiving contrasting color schemes designed to emphasize the rivalry between the two Mobile Suits.

Based on the original “MG 1/100 Gundam Epyon EW” from June 2011, the special edition replaces the Mobile Suit’s traditional red and dark blue exterior with predominantly white armor that creates a much brighter appearance.
The finish combines opaque white components with translucent sections, particularly across the wings, allowing the underlying gold-colored mechanical details to remain visible through the exterior.

Metallic gold parts provide contrast around the torso, limbs, and backpack, complementing the clear sections and giving the completed model a more elaborate appearance.
Another major addition is a dedicated sheet of mirror-finish silver water-slide decals featuring symmetrical patterns inspired by decorative engravings, which can be applied across the armor for further detail.

The markings are designed specifically for the Cross Contrast Colors edition, adding reflective accents that complement the white and gold design.
Beneath its alternative coloring, the kit retains the transformation mechanisms of the original Master Grade, allowing builders to convert Gundam Epyon between its humanoid Mobile Suit configuration and twin-headed dragon-like Mobile Armor form.

The transformed machine uses the Gundam’s legs to form two dragon heads, with articulated necks, opening mouths, and movable claws that allow both heads to be positioned independently.
Its large wings also incorporate linked articulation, allowing the upper sections to move alongside the lower wing assemblies when adjusting their position.
The Epyon’s signature Beam Sword is included with a translucent yellow effect part, recreating the powerful close-combat weapon connected directly to the Mobile Suit’s energy supply.

A flexible white cable connects the sword to its generator, which can be mounted on the right side of the waist when the weapon is in use.
The shield-mounted Heat Rod is also reproduced with individually articulated segments, allowing builders to recreate the weapon’s curved and extended configurations during combat.
Interchangeable hands and dedicated Action Base connection components are provided for displaying the completed model in either Mobile Suit or Mobile Armor form, although the display stand itself is sold separately.
