Does rose gold hair fade quickly?
This depends on your hair colour, condition and the products your using. Some people, including Hailey Bieber, find it hard to keep up. She told Refinery 29 “I loved my pink hair, but it’s hard to maintain. I get lazy and you have to do the cream rinse and the color yourself[…] It never stays one color pink; it’s the perfect color and then you wash it and it’s the wrong color. But I loved it.” On average, it takes roughly between 10-20 washes to fade completely.
“For me, it took three to four weeks for the colour to be gone completely, slowly fading out with each wash,” says Sam. “Towards the end, there were a few days where the pink was only a whisper and made my blonde look a little mucky, but after two days of meh and a final thorough wash with a clarifying shampoo, my blonde was back and better than ever.”
Do I need to change my beauty routine?
“The first thing I did when I got home from my appointment was to tan. Pastel colours can wash you out, so if you’re as pale as I am, a good bronzing will work wonders. Have plenty of light-coloured clothes on stand-by. I found whites, pastel colours and greys worked best with this shade of hair.
Gold and bronze eye makeup looked amazing. Something about the metallic-ness of your hair and the shimmer of the eyeshadows just WORKS.”
Does the colour look different depending on the light?
“In natural light mine looked like bright, golden pink, whereas in darker light I could pass as gingery strawberry blonde.
But most importantly, treating myself to a mellow rosé change was so FUN! I had so many compliments and it’s such an easy way for blondes to play around with their look (without too much commitment). JUST DO IT!
It’s now been five months since I dabbled with pink hair, and I’m ready to go for round two (perhaps a peach this time?).”
