Retail communications specialist VoCoVo, headquartered in Shipton-under-Wychwood, in Oxfordshire, has appointed two senior executives as it looks to accelerate growth and develop its AI-enabled technology.
Emma Hillyard joins as chief financial officer, while Paul Birkin has been named chief technology officer.
Emma brings extensive experience in financial leadership and business transformation, having previously held chief financial officer roles at Waterstones, Blackwell’s and Alzheimer’s Society.
She will oversee VoCoVo’s financial strategy, supporting sustainable growth and helping teams make informed commercial decisions.
Emma said: “VoCoVo has achieved strong growth already, and my role is to help make sure we navigate this next period and build on the growth already seen.
“For me, that means giving teams the insight and support they need to make informed decisions and creating the right environment for people to do their best work.”
Meanwhile, Paul joins with extensive technology leadership experience, having held senior roles at CBRE, Experian, Capita, Logica and Cisco.
He will lead VoCoVo’s product and technology strategy, focusing on artificial intelligence, data and voice technology to improve communication and efficiency across retail environments.
Paul added: “I’ve spent much of my career leading large-scale transformations where technology can make a visible difference.
“That’s what makes VoCoVo so exciting – there’s already a strong technology foundation and a true ambition to keep innovating.
“As retail becomes increasingly intelligent, AI has the potential to create huge business value.”
Beth Worrall, chief executive of VoCoVo, welcomed the appointments, adding: “Emma and Paul bring two highly complementary areas of expertise to VoCoVo.
“Emma helps ensure we have the right commercial foundations and insight to scale sustainably, while Paul helps us accelerate our technology roadmap and innovation to create greater impact for our customers.”
