Long before Mother’s Day was popularised by American social activist Anna Jarvis in 1908, in honour of her mother Ann Reeves Jarvis, women wore gold not for show, but for what it signified. Protection. Permanence. Life, given. Jewellery still operates in that register. A ring, a pendant, a small, deliberate object that holds more than it declares. It sits close to the body, quietly carrying memory, sentiment, and time itself. Never just an accessory, but something felt, then kept, then passed on.
