NEW YORK, October 24, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Elizabeth “Betsy” Ewing, a leading advisor and consultant to the alternative investments industry, has been awarded Citizen of the Year at the 2024 With Intelligence Allocator Prizes. The Citizen of the Year award acknowledges exceptional contributions to the institutional investor community and visibility of its best people, work and practices.
Betsy, with over 25 years in the alternative investments industry, has served as an external advisor to the Standards Board for Alternative Investments (SBAI), a global alliance of alternative investment managers and institutional investors dedicated to improving the alternatives industry, since 2018. Betsy oversees all the Board’s activities in North America, working closely with the trustees providing industry guidance, increasing transparency and knowledge-sharing. The SBAI is supported by a large community of leading asset managers and institutional investors, representing over $8 trillion in assets under management. Betsy also works with a myriad of firms through the consultancy she founded in 2019, Ewing Consulting Partners.
“I am honored and humbled to be recognized as Citizen of the Year and to serve such a great community,” said Betsy Ewing. “Our success as an industry is dependent on fostering collaboration, educating, solving problems and celebrating our achievements. I am proud to contribute to these vital efforts. Together we are making great progress and I look forward to continuing to play my part in ensuring our industry is the most successful, responsible and collaborative it can be.”
The Allocator Prizes, announced this month at The Rainbow Room in New York City, are decided by an independent panel of experts from across the institutional investment industry ecosystem. This year’s judges were Meredith Coburn, Leader of the Global Investment Practice at Russell Reynolds; Sanjeev Daga, COO of Harvard Management Co.; Robin Diamonte, CIO of Raytheon Technologies; Melanie Pickett, Head of Asset Owners, Americas at Northern Trust; and Ted Seides, Founder of Capital Allocators.
The Best Citizen prize is awarded to someone trusted and admired by their allocator partners; a good person who does more than their business interests demand in support of mission-driven investing and of their community.
