Constellation-backed AlphaCore hires ex-Focus dealmaker

Alternative investments-focused RIA AlphaCore Wealth Advisory has brought on a dealmaker from Focus Financial Partners to serve as its head of corporate development.

The $2.8bn firm, based in La Jolla, Calif., has hired Aidan Walsh to run its M&A and advisor recruiting efforts. Walsh was formerly a senior associate on Focus’s M&A and relationship management team.

‘When you don’t have somebody who owns that process from start to finish, it becomes taxing to our team, from myself at the CEO level all the way down to operations and compliance and everything else that goes into onboarding and structuring a deal from beginning to end,’ AlphaCore chief executive Dick Pfister told Citywire. ‘There was always this mindset that I would want somebody that woke up in the morning thinking about that and strategically looking for the right fits for us.’
