Australia’s Latest Luxury Condos, From the Gold Coast to the Capital

Palm, 67 Gerrale St., Cronulla, Sydney

Positioned between Gunnamatta Bay and Cronulla Beach in the Sutherland Shire of southern Sydney, Palm is the latest residential project by developer Sammut Group and PBD Architects.

Home to 23 apartments and with a retail precinct planned at ground level, the A$140 million luxury building, which launched in November, will be the jewel in Sammut’s crown with interiors by MIM Design and sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean.

Sammut Group’s chief operating officer, Julian Sammut said Palm has been a long-term goal for the family-run development company.

“Palm is the pinnacle of everything Sammut Group has been working toward over the past four decades,” he said. “It will offer a level of opulence and sophistication never before seen in the area. Palm is a transformative project that will forever change how people think about Cronulla and the Sutherland Shire.”

The luxury nine-story project marketed through Highland Property will include six two-bedroom apartments, 16 three-bedroom apartments and a three-bedroom penthouse.

Palm’s beachside location was the inspiration for the materials in the build used with multiple textures in the mix including sandstone, bronze and timber combined with a sculptured curvature to the facade to reinforce the coastal character.

Emma Mahlook, MIM Design creative director, said the interiors had been crafted with downsizers in mind.

“It’s the thoughtful little touches we’ve included. Step through your secure gate after a swim at the beach and there’s a place where you can wash the sand from your feet,” she said.

Inside, Palm’s high-end finishes will feature rounded forms mirroring the exterior, open-plan living areas with fireplaces, gas kitchens, spacious bedrooms with integrated bed heads, wardrobes and dressers, and marble bathrooms.

Across the road from the sand of South Cronulla Beach, Palm is in close proximity to local shops, eateries, Gunnamatta Park, and Cronulla Train Station with a direct route into Sydney’s central business district.
