Bears’ Johnson secures triple jump gold at LSU meet

BATON ROUGE, La. — Baylor’s Koi Johnson leapt to a gold medal in the women’s triple jump to complete the Battle at the Bayou Saturday at Bernie Moore Track Stadium.

Johnson soared 42-9 for the meet record in the event. It was her first win in the event since the 2023 Razorback Invitational in Arkansas. As of her jump, that 42-9 distance was the third-best mark in the country.

Johnson’s win was Baylor’s only gold medal of the day, but the Bears did secure a silver in the men’s 4×100 relay, clocking 39.26 seconds. That team was made up of Ricquan Graham, Laurenz Colbert, Kamden Jackson and De’montray Callis.

Baylor’s next action will come at the Tom Jones Memorial April 12-13 in Gainesville, Florida.
