As part of our annual SFA Club Licensing, we are delighted to see our playing surface awarded a 4 out of 5 rating, putting the pitch in the ‘Gold Standard’.
With this successful rating, it places the surface on a good footing ahead of the 2024-25 season and sets a high bar to maintain.
This rating is on the back of a season where the pitch has had additional usage throughout the season with Rangers B, Scottish Schools and Scotland National Youth teams opting to utilise Cappielow throughout the 2023/24 season as a preferred venue.
On the award, General Manager, Dale Pryde-MacDonald said, “Firstly, well done to Mark Farrell our Groundsman on receiving this rating for the surface. With a heavy migration to artificial surfaces in this country it makes it even more pleasing that we are still producing a gold standard of grass pitch to be played on week in, week out.”
“The club have invested money over the last two years to help with the surface and more importantly new drainage under the surface that we hope will help us to maintain if not better this score next year.”
