China’s Lian, Hao win third straight 10m synchro diving gold


Doha (AFP) – China’s Lian Junjie and Yang Hao won a third straight men’s 10-metre synchronised diving gold at the world aquatics championships on Thursday.

Lian, 23, and Yang, 26, dominated to give the Chinese a seventh diving gold in Doha.

The Chinese pair scored 470.76 points after five dives to push Britain’s Tom Daley and Noah Williams into the silver with 422.37 points.

Daley, 29, who won the Olympic title in Tokyo with Matty Lee, claimed the eighth world medal of his career.

Ukrainian pair Kirill Boliukh and Oleksii Sereda, silver medallists last year in Fukuoka, took bronze with 406.47 pts.
