Coronation Street fans made a plea to ITV bosses after being in “fits of laughter”.
Recent scenes have seen Tracy Barlow having an affair with retired footballer, Tommy Orpington. Tracy has become frustrated with husband Steve’s laziness and the character has been oblivious to his wife’s changing affections.
However, his best friend, Tim Metcalfe, has uncovered the affair. Monday’s show saw Tim talking to his wife Sally about the situation, but fans did not expect the “comedy gold”.

Some viewers branded the storyline as “comedy gold” as others said there “should have been a warning” with the innuendos. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one person said: “This scene is absolutely hilarious.”
Another wrote: “Obsessed with sally and tim omfg.” A third added: “There should be a warning before all this sex talk.”
A fourth commented: “Wasn’t ready for this dirty weather talk.” Another said: “Tim and Sally Soap Gold.”
Coronation Street shared a picture of Sally and Tim as viewers admitted they had been “howling”. One person wrote: “Tim and Sally had me in fits of laugher tonight, comedy gold them two.”
Another said: “Sally and Tim are hilarious especially her being a weather girl.” Another begged bosses to “keep up the humour”.
Fans claimed the affair had brought “life back to Corrie” as others branded them the “best scenes the shows had in years.”
After agreeing to tell Steve, Tracy instead agreed to renew her vows with her husband. But Tim soon revealed the affair after visiting Steve later in the show, leading Tracy to admit she was no longer in love with her husband.
And fans were surprised with the suspected break-up. One person said: “Oh wow they’re actually splitting them up.”
Another added: “Funniest break-up scene ever.” A third added: “Are they actually over?”
One person wrote: “Weird when you think that it used to be Tracey who was obsessed with Steve – even trying to split up him and Karen on their wedding day.”
