Darts champ Luke Humphries could have bagged free and unlimited Greggs for life after they hinted they would send him a VIP card.
Luke, the new World No1 after winning the Paddy Power World Darts Championship final this week, replied to a tweet from the bakery brand offering free sausage rolls to anyone watching the final.
They told fans to tell them why they deserved to win, prompting the arrows champ to chip in, who replied, “Well I’ve been doing media for the last 10 hours. Something might have happened last night, and I’m starving. Does that qualify me for a sausage roll?”

Greggs replied and said: “We can probably do a bit better than that! Leave it with us… (p.s. congrats!!)” But the Greggs-loving sportsman, who recently lost four stone, joked he would pile back on the pounds if they did.
He uploaded a photo of himself prior to his weight loss, writing: “Me in three months if I get a gold card”. He later posted: “You [Greggs] are my faves. Thank you so much.”

Humphries, 28, has been on a (sausage) roll over the past 12 months after taking his game to new heights. He picked up three tournament wins and reached the semi-final of the World Matchplay, before romping to victory at the World Darts Championship.
He saw off Scott Williams, Dave Chisnall, Joe Cullen, Ricardo Pietreczko and Lee Evans to reach the Ally Pally showpiece, where he then beat 16-year-old sensation Luke Littler 7-4 in an entertaining contest.
