Believe it or not, The Elder Scrolls Online is celebrating its tenth birthday this year! It’s been a long journey for ESO players, full of brand-new stories to experience, a wealth of weapons to wield, and tons of enemies to fell. The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road is the latest expansion to the MMO RPG, and brings with it some free updates for all players also.
Follow the Gold (Brick) Road
The return of a long-forgotten Daedric Prince has brought chaos and disorder to West Weald. First explored in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, you’ll travel to the city of Skingrad, and attempt to take down a Daedric cult that calls this city their home.
How will you do so? Well, with brand new item sets, new unique Mythic items, and by making use of ESO’s new Scribing system, which allows players to fully tailor their playstyle using unique scripts. Scribing promises to allow you to make your character truly your own. ESO: Gold Road is now available on Xbox and PlayStation, just a few weeks on from the PC launch.
Also included in the Gold Road chapter is a huge 12-player group trial by the name of Lucent Citadel, which will really test your combat skills as you venture into an ancient Daedric Vault with your closest of fellow players.

Updates Galore
Alongside the paid-for Gold Road chapter comes Update 42, which will be granted to all players free of charge. This brings with it a more streamlined approach to organising your in-game mail, as well as the ‘Adventure Across a Decade’ Achievement, which grants you a unique skin for completing questlines retelling some of ESO’s greatest moments of the last ten years.
