Former RAF triathlon guide Luke Pollard adds world championship to Paralympic gold medal

Former RAF triathlon guide Luke Pollard has won the world championship at an event in Spain.

Pollard guided Derby-based athlete Dave Ellis to a winning time of 58 minutes and 54 seconds in the PTVI race.

It’s a continuation of the pair’s red-hot form in 2024 after winning Paralympic gold in Paris in the summer.

Previously, the duo have won Commonwealth, national and European titles as part of a successful spell as partners.

In this year’s world championship event, they completed the 750m swim in second place and took the lead during the 20km bike leg.

In the 5km run, they consolidated their lead to claim a third major triumph of the season.
