Mumbai: Five persons, including a foreign national, who allegedly smuggled gold worth Rs 2 crore hiding the commodity in their baggage have been arrested by the Customs offcials at the Chhatrapati Maharaj Mumbai International Airport. The gold dust was smuggled in five separate cases from Dubai, Colombo and Singapore, Customs officials saidIn the first case, the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Customs seized 1.76kg of gold valued at Rs 1 crore, In the second case, the AIU arrested an Indian national travelling to Mumbai from Dubai with 570gram gold worth Rs 40 lakh. Similarly, a foreign national travelling from Colombo was caught with 538 gram of gold jewellery. An Indian national coming from Abu Dhabi was arrested with gold ash weighing 215 gm. In another case, a flyer from Singapore was arrested with 200gm gold bars.
