Sports Seriously
Now that the 2024 Paris Olympics are underway, the chase for gold is on.
There are 329 possible gold medals to win in this year’s Summer Games, and while it’s impossible for the United States to win every single one of them – Team USA isn’t competing in all events – there is expectation for the Americans to bring home the most gold in the Olympics. The U.S. has won the most gold medals of any country in Olympics history and had the most in the past three Summer Olympics.
“We certainly do expect to have a very strong performance, as we have historically seen in these Games,” Sarah Hirshland, the chief executive officer of the USOPC, said in a June teleconference.
