London Underground rat strikes gold as it drags churro the length of its body between tracks

A rat on the London Underground risked life and limb as it almost sacrificed everything to go and get a churro the length of its body between the tracks. In the video on TikTok we can see the brave little critter tugging at the huge churro – a fried stick of dough.

It drags it one way up the tracks and then another, struggling with the massive treat in its mouth. The sounds of an approaching train get louder and there is a little more urgency in the rat.

It eventually decides on a direction and disappears under the tracks, hopefully enjoying the feast of its labours. People in the comments are all getting behind the rat with one person saying ‘he’s supporting his family’.

Another person agreed saying: “If he have family at least he’s providing some delicious churros for them.” Many people feel the same and that they would risk a lot for a churro. One commenter said: “I don’t blame him, churros are the bomb. I literally ascended the first time I had one.” A second commentator said: “Understandable, churros are REALLY good.”

There was also a lot of care in the comments for our underground neighbours with many worrying about the rat’s wellbeing. This is a change from the normal narrative of disgusting pests that we usually see spouted about rats.

Maybe the Tube is a place we can all agree to share and live harmoniously, dropping little pieces of food on purpose so those who need to provide for all their little rat babies can. We all support Tom in Tom and Jerry right? Why not these guys too?
