Marks and Spencer shoppers have used the same ‘liquid gold’ anti-ageing for decades for tighter skin – now it’s even better

Shoppers are flocking to buy a ‘liquid gold’ anti-ageing serum that they swear has made their skin ‘glow’. Not only does it make their skin glow but it also helps to reduce age spots, fine lines and wrinkles – and Liquid Gold has recently had a make over.

The anti-wrinkle serum has built up a cult following of women who have been using it for decades – with one even went so far as to say they’ve been using it for 27 years. The Liquid Gold anti-ageing toner, which is available at M&S as well as directly from the brand, contains 5% Glycolic Acid which works by gently exfoliating the skin to clear out pollution build-up and dead skin cells.

It has been created with resurfacing and revitalising the complexion in mind, which will, in turn, improve luminosity and tone. The Alpha-H Liquid Gold anti-wrinkle serum also has anti-ageing properties, as the ingredients used are known for their ability to stimulate the production of collagen and minimise the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, pigmentation, open pores and sun damage.

The toning serum is hydrating and promotes moisture retention, while strengthening the skin’s protective barrier.

In a clinical trial with 28 participants over 8 weeks, 93% saw an improvement in skin elasticity. 88% of people saw an improvement in skin tone and luminosity, while 88% of people saw an improvement in skin texture.

The anti-ageing toner has a near-perfect five-star rating, with an average rating of 4.8 out of five. 97% of reviewers have said that they would recommend it to a friend, and beauty buffs have been impressed by how well it hydrates, makes the skin glow, and have hailed it a ‘game changer’.

One shopper said: “I’ve been using this for nearly a decade. It does make a difference to your skin and is good at tightening the pores. I highly recommend it for those of us who are getting older.”

Before and after using Liquid Gold

A second penned: “Have been using this for years now and it is the best exfoliating liquid I’ve tried. Leaves the skin bright and hydrated, the bottle lasts quite a while as you only need to use it 2/3 times a week.”

A third added: “I’ve been buying this for ages, if I forget to use it I notice the difference – it’s really good, wouldn’t be without it. Excellent buy.”

Not all shoppers are so instantly impressed, one complained that it didn’t have a huge impact on her brown spots. She said: “I have a lot of sun damage due to lack of sun tan lotion in the 70s. On my second bottle and improvement on my neck wrinkles for sure, brown spots minimal improvement, but will continue. My skin appears brighter on the whole. But hey you cannot expect miracles.”

It’s even proving popular amongst American beauty icons. Donna Francis has been an award-winning Beauty Editor for over 25 years, currently Beauty Ed at Hello Magazine in the US. Donna has been using Alpha-H Liquid Gold for decades – it’s one of her staples as a Beauty Editor in her late 40s who hasn’t had anti-wrinkles injections, and prefers a skincare approach to Botox.

Alpha H Liquid Gold

Donna said: “I am 47 and have never had Botox – which is rare in my industry – so I need my skincare to work really hard and Liquid Gold ticks all of the right boxes. It gives glow while not being too harsh on my skin. It’s super easy to use and the results appear fast. Plus I know that Alpha-H uses the best, quality ingredients so I know that I’m caring and treating my skin with the best!”

Many shoppers are saying that this is the best Glycolic Acid toner they’ve tried, but there are alternatives on the market. Amazon has The Inkey List Glycolic Acid 10% Toning Solution for £9.75 – which has an average rating of 4.3 stars out of five from over 1000 shoppers.

L’Oreal Paris 5% Glycolic Acid Peeling Toner is currently £10.04 on the LookFantastic website. However, neither of these products have a 27-year long cult fanbase like the Alpha-H Liquid Gold, albeit a bit more on the pricey side.

You can buy the five-star rated Liquid Gold Anti-Ageing Toner with 5% Glycolic Acid is available from £14.99 directly from Alpha H.
