Weekends are to unwind and indulge in some TLC. If you love everything luxe, take a page from Priyanka Chopra’s books and go get a rose gold facial. A dedicated fan of the sheet mask variant, Priyanka took to Instagram stories to share a selfie with the caption, “Just a girl and her @111skin Rose gold”.
Indianexpress.com spoke to Dr Monica Kapoor, celebrity cosmetologist and director of Flawless Cosmetic Clinic & ILACAD Institute to understand the benefits of this facial and why you should make it a regular in your skincare routine.
“The key components in a rose gold facial typically include rose extract, gold particles, and a blend of luxurious, nourishing ingredients. Rose extract is celebrated for its hydrating and anti-inflammatory properties, making it excellent for soothing the skin and reducing redness,” said Kapoor.
“Gold particles are believed to enhance skin’s elasticity and provide a radiant glow, while the other components, such as hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and botanical oils, work together to deeply moisturise, brighten, and rejuvenate the skin, she added.
How does this facial help?
“This facial treatment primarily targets hydration, anti-ageing, and revitalisation. The rose extract helps to maintain the skin’s moisture balance and calm irritation, which is particularly beneficial for sensitive or dry skin,” she explained.
Kapoor said that the gold particles can stimulate collagen production, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The antioxidants present in the facial help to protect the skin from environmental stressors, promoting a healthier and more youthful complexion, she added.
How often should you indulge in this treatment?
The ideal frequency for a rose gold facial depends on individual skin needs and conditions.
According to Kapoor, it is recommended to get this treatment once a month to maintain optimal skin health and appearance. For those with specific skin concerns or in preparation for special events, a cosmetologist might suggest a more tailored schedule.
Any precautions to be taken?
“People with extremely sensitive skin or allergies to any of the ingredients should consult with a dermatologist or perform a patch test before undergoing the full treatment,” shared Kapoor.
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also seek medical advice to ensure the treatment is safe for them, she added.
According to her, it extremely crucial to follow post-treatment care instructions provided by the cosmetologist to avoid any potential irritation or adverse effects.
