Taylor Swift didn’t end her history-making Grammys night with just one look. The singer switched into a gold sequin dress for her record label, Universal Music Publishing Group’s, Grammys after-party.
Footage surfaced on X, formerly known as Twitter, of Swift mingling with guests, including her friends Ed Sheeran and Sabrina Carpenter, in the gold outfit. The best video that has surfaced so far of Swift in the dress can be seen here. Singer Caroline Polachek posted a photo with Swift too at the after-party, which revealed a closer look at Swift’s dress.
The look featured sequin-adorned spaghetti straps and a deep-V neckline. The gold sequins acted like vertical stripes, running down the dress. She kept her signature red lip and wore her hair to the side, like she did at the ceremony. A second video of her hugging Sheeran gives a view of the dress from the back. Page Six later identified that the sheer dress is this $18,000 Valentino one:
The dress is similar to the Clio Peppiatt silver minidress Swift wore on New Year’s Eve, where she kissed her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
Swift started her night wearing a custom Schiaparelli dress with black opera gloves on the red carpet. While some fans initially thought the look could be a nod to her upcoming yet unannounced album, Reputation (Taylor’s Version), Swift shared later that it was, in fact, the first look from a different album’s era.
Swift announced during the show her plans to release The Tortured Poets Department in April. Fans quickly linked the name to an interview Swift’s ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn gave about “The Tortured Man Club” WhatsApp group he was in with Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal. Alwyn and Swift dated for six years before they broke up last March. Last May, Swift released what fans believe to be her first breakup song about him, “You’re Losing Me.” Months later, Jack Antonoff revealed that Swift wrote the song on Dec. 5, 2021, over a year before she and Alwyn split for good.
