Voting for Primetime Emmy nominees started on June 13, so it’s also time for Gold Derby’s community of knowledgeable users to vote for nominees in our 21st Annual Gold Derby TV Awards. Help us honor the best dramas, comedies, limited series and more that aired from June 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024.
Nobody knows awards better than the experts, editors and users at Gold Derby, so we launched our own prizes for film in 2002 and for TV in 2004. Vote for your favorites in 30 categories for the Gold Derby TV Awards Nominations 2024. You can rank your top four choices in each category. Vote by clicking on a category above. Below: Grab contenders one by one from the left column and add them to the right column by clicking on the green + symbol. Arrange in the order you choose to vote (#1 is your top choice). Grab each entry and move it up or down. You have until the end of July 10 to make or change your final selections.
You can vote effective immediately and edit your ballot as often as you like before voting ends. None of your votes are final until voting closes, so you still have time to catch up on anything you’ve missed this season and change your mind even if you cast your initial votes right now. (See the photos at the bottom of this post for a fuller illustration of the voting process.)
Last year “Succession” won Best Drama Series, but its run has ended, so we’re guaranteed to crown a new winner this year. In fact, none of last year’s eight Drama Series nominees are eligible to return this year, either because they concluded or because they took an extended hiatus between seasons. So there has never been such a golden opportunity for fans to make their voices heard and select a new roster of great dramas, whether they be brand new shows like “Shogun,” “Fallout” and “3 Body Problem” or returning programs like “The Crown,” “The Morning Show” and “The Gilded Age.”
For Best Comedy Series, “The Bear” is the reigning champ, and it is eligible to return this year for its second season, which premiered almost exactly a year ago. Season three drops on June 27, right in the middle of our voting period, but that’s not the season you’re voting on. Also eligible to return from last year’s Best Comedy lineup are “Abbott Elementary,” “Reservation Dogs” and “Only Murders in the Building,” so there are quite a few vacant slots to fill here too, even if all of those returning contenders are nominated again.
We also have special categories that even the Emmys don’t offer: Ensemble of the Year, Performer of the Year, Breakthrough Performer of the Year, Comedy Episode of the Year and Drama Episode of the Year.
