₹32 Cr Worth Liquor, Drugs, Precious Metals Seized


Lucknow: In compliance with the Election Commission’s directive to enforce model code of conduct, various enforcement agencies have seized liquor, drugs, precious metals and cash, amounting to around Rs 32 crore. According to reports, excise, income-tax, police and other govt agencies have seized Rs 31,898.16 crore worth of liquor, drugs, precious metals and cash during a drive launched from March 1 to April 22. While Rs 3,123.56 crore was seized in cash, liquor, drugs and precious metals worth Rs 4,279.08 crore, Rs 21,177.55 and Rs 2,161.59 crore respectively were seized. Chief electoral officer Navdeep Rinwa said that on April 22 a total of Rs 239.20 lakh worth of liquor, drugs, and cash were seized.
