Precious memories from precious metals at an NI Silver workshop

Connect with the ancient craft of jewellery making at an immersive NI Silver workshop and take home the perfect personalised souvenir.

Forge precious memories from precious metals.

The art of jewellery-making dates back thousands of years, and in Ireland, ancient gold, silver, and bronze artefacts attest to its importance in society. At NI Silver in Northern Ireland, modern artisans are carrying on the jewellery-making traditions and offer workshops where you can learn the craft and fashion your own piece of jewellery.

A beginners’ workshop takes you through the basics. With a maximum of three participants, it’s a highly welcoming and personalised experience and a fun way to spend time with friends or family.

To add a touch of luxury, the lux beginners experience adds prosecco and chocolates into the take-home mix while the VIP experience goes a step further with a chance to relax after the workshop and chat with the artisans as you enjoy a drink and the lovely views across Belfast Lough and the Antrim Hills.

As well as making your own jewellery, there is also the opportunity to buy a beautifully crafted piece from the NI Silver collection, which is renowned for its unique designs that reflect Northern Ireland’s landscape and heritage.

The collections include Giant’s Causeway, with pieces featuring the famous hexagonal stones from the UNESCO World Heritage Site in County Antrim on the stunning Causeway Coast.

The Belfast collection is inspired by city landmarks such as the award-winning Titanic Belfast museum, the imposing shipyard cranes and local sculptures. The Dark Hedges, made famous as a shoot location (Kingsroad) for Game of Thrones, lend their beauty to a range of pieces while other important heritage spots such as Fanad Lighthouse, the Bangor Bell and Queens University also make an appearance. NI Silver also makes bespoke pieces for individual commissions.

The NI silver workshop is located in the hills above the village of Holywood in County Down, a short hop from Belfast city and close to the seaside town of Bangor.

To stretch your legs following a morning or afternoon spent making your precious metal memory, head to beautiful Crawfordsburn Country Park nearby for a walk through its glens, a stroll on the beach at Helen’s Bay or a hike along the North Down Coastal Path.
