Australian grape-to-glass gin wins silver medal

Australian grape-to-glass gin wins silver medal

The 2024 London Spirits Competition judged 520 gin entries from 80 countries. The UK’s beverage sector evaluated each spirit on the merits of quality, value and presentation. Australia’s South Burnett Distillers has acquired a silver medal at the competition for its signature Ichika Gin.

This achievement places the small-batch distillery on the map for the second consecutive year. The gin was celebrated for its Japanese and East Asian inspirations, as well as its grape-to-glass ethos with a compelling flavour profile.

“Receiving recognition for the second year in a row at the London Spirits Competition is not just an honour; it’s a testament to our dedicated pursuit of distilling excellence.

“Our Ichika Gin, with its distinctive blend of botanicals and nuanced flavours, epitomises our innovative approach to spirit-making,” said Nick Pesudovs (pictured above), the maestro behind South Burnett Distillers and head winemaker at Clovely Estate.

In light of this triumph, the distillery is eager to further develop its range of grape-to-glass spirits.
