Bhopal: Hailing from a modest background, 19-year-old Bholu Parmar, a rider from MP Equestrian Academy, showcased the power of determination at the senior national equestrian eventing cross country championship in Delhi by winning a silver medal on Saturday. Bholu’s medal is significant as he competed against Asian Games medallists,The journey from a humble background to a national medalist underscores Bholu Parmar’s resilience and determination, setting a shining example for aspiring riders across the country. Bholu’s determination could be gauged from the fact that despite his father being a horse caretaker, Bholu clinched the silver medal in the competition held at the Army Polo Riding Centre in Delhi Cantt. The gold medal was secured by Major Apoorva Dabade from the Army, with Subedar Rakesh Kumar claiming the bronze.Major Apoorva Dabade, the gold medalist, previously represented the Indian eventing team at the 19th Asiad Games in China, where he achieved third place.Subedar Rakesh Kumar, the bronze medalist, had also excelled at the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta. Bholu, transitioning from the junior to senior category, impressed everyone with his remarkable performance and secured the silver medal.Bholu attributed his inspiration to his father, who has devoted 15 years to the academy. Reflecting on his journey, Bholu expressed, “My father’s dedication motivated me to pursue equestrian. I joined the academy eight years ago with the sole aim of excelling and winning medals.” Captain Bhagirath, the chief coach, commended Bholu’s achievement, emphasizing the importance of nurturing talent within the academy.Bholu’s skilful control over the saddle and his horse Louk’s determination were key factors in his success.
