Duluth’s 10th annual Automobile Show is scheduled for tomorrow at the Armory, exhibiting 175 cars of 40 different makes. Local dealers say practically everyone in the region except the bedridden is expected to attend.

U.S. Sen. Edward J. Thye announced the name of the new taconite town the Reserve Mining Co. is building on the North Shore, “Silver Bay, Minnesota.” The appointment of a postmaster for the new town is now under consideration.

A Duluth man who claimed that the woman who accused him of sexual assault simply imagined the incident was found not guilty of the charges. Prosecutor Mark Rubin acknowledged that police fell short of doing a thorough investigation.

Duluth city councilors voted 5-4 to settle a lawsuit demanding the removal of the
monument from the lawn of City Hall. Councilors Roger Reinert, Greg Gilbert, Laurie Johnson, Russ Stewart and Russ Stover voted to settle, while Jim Stauber, Neill Atkins, Tim Little and Donny Ness voted against.
