Princeton University’s Campus Dining department recently made its debut at the American Culinary Federation Sanctioned Culinary Competition hosted by Skidmore College, achieving a significant feat. Our seasoned chefs, including Chef Matthew Kane of Graduate College, Chef David Hatton of Yeh/New College West, Chef Rick Brabson of Forbes College, and Chef Patrick Thompson of Frist Campus Center, showcased their culinary prowess and secured a well-deserved silver medal, meeting rigorous standards set by the largest professional culinary organization in the USA.
The competition assessed collegiate culinary teams on various criteria, including teamwork, organization, knife skills, and, of course, taste & presentation. We take immense pride in the exceptional performance of our chefs, each contributing to the team’s success.
Special recognition goes to the leaders of this accomplished team, Executive Chef Michael Gattis of Rockefeller and Mathey Colleges, Executive Chef Jerry Luz of Catering, and Executive Chef Dan Maher of Frist Campus Center, whose guidance and expertise played a crucial role in this achievement. This accomplishment not only reflects the culinary excellence within our program but also adds another layer of pride to Princeton University. Congratulations to the entire Campus Dining team for this remarkable win!
