Instead, sometimes, the aftermarket realm creates something more extraordinary than what the OEM has revealed so far. Thanks to a recent teaser and the embedded hints, Carlex Design has a chance to achieve complete stardom with its new Himalaya Collection. As far as we can tell, because Carlex loves the number seven – as we have seen on various occasions – there will be only seven Rolls-Royce Cullinan ultra-luxury super-SUVs offered as part of the Himalaya Collection.
Details are scarce at the moment, but the original teaser from a few days ago announced the full name of the series is ‘The Himalaya Seven Elysium Collection,’ and that we needed to prepare to be enchanted by the seamless marriage of “the timeless allure of Himalaya leather with the subtle sparkle of diamond-dusted skins.” The diamond part sure got our attention, and we waited patiently for more information.
Well, all will be revealed on February 23, but we couldn’t wait that long to show you a couple of the headliners – this white and gold Rolls-Royce Cullinan plus a matching Ferrari Purosangue. It’s still unclear if the seven pieces of the Himalaya Collection will be composed of seven Cullinans and Purosangues or if they just cycle among the most luxurious SUVs out there. But we know that each vehicle has “certificates, nameplates, and a detailed chronicle, bearing the signatures of the dedicated creators who meticulously brought this masterpiece to life.”
Additionally, Carlex has also left some additional breadcrumbs on social media – the Rolls-Royce Cullinan has a silver-cast and engraved steering wheel that took nine months to complete by the company’s jewelry workshop to complete, there’s some scented, freshly-cut wood inside, and also filled with ‘diamond dust.’ Apparently, that’s a thing – and it seems that the “extraction of diamond dust is an extremely meticulous process that requires advanced techniques. First, diamonds are carefully selected for quality and purity. Then, specialized tools and machinery are used for crushing the diamonds into very fine dust. This dust is meticulously collected and subjected to special processes to obtain the final product.”
Last but not least, the Ferrari Purosangue – of which we only glimpse the interior – should also represent a treat, given the showcase of carefully manufactured leather. Anyway, it won’t take long before the official arrival of the Carlex Himalaya Collection, and all of our questions will be answered… after we collect our jaws off the floor, that is.
