Gold slumps by Rs 600 per tola, silver Rs 20 as precious metals lose luster in domestic market

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 4

The precious metals lost their luster in the domestic market this Sunday, with Gold witnessing a decline of Rs 600 per tola, closely followed by Silver dropping Rs 20 per tola.

This downturn in the price of the yellow metal follows a week of steady rise, where it amassed a total of Rs 1500 per tola.

This also marks a significant drop in the price of silver. While the silver market experienced fluctuations throughout the last week, none matched the magnitude of this drop.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FeNeGoSiDA), fine gold is currently trading at Rs 118,900 per tola on Sunday, marking a Rs 600 per tola decrease from Friday’s Rs 119,500 per tola.

Similarly, Tejabi gold is being traded at Rs 118,350 per tola in comparison to Friday’s Rs 118,950 per tola.

Likewise, the price of Silver is being traded at Rs 1,395 per tola, representing a notable drop from yesterday’s rate of Rs 1,415 per tola.
